Warranty, Return and Refund Policy
At My Butchers Block, we take pride in the quality of our wooden products and are committed to ensuring our customers are completely satisfied with their purchases. If, for any reason, you are not entirely happy with your purchase, we are here to help.
Returns
Our return policy is valid for 30 days from the date of purchase. If 30 days have passed since your purchase, unfortunately, we cannot offer you a refund or exchange.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused, in the same condition that you received it, and in its original packaging. Please ensure that all original tags, labels, and any included accessories or manuals are returned with the product.
Return Process
Contact Us
Before returning your item, please contact us at wecare@mybutchersblock.co.za with your order number and a brief description of the issue. We will provide you with return instructions.
Pack Your Item
Securely pack the item in its original packaging to avoid damage during transit. Ensure that the package includes all original components and documentation.
Ship the Item
Should 30 days have lapsed, you will be responsible for return shipping. We recommend using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance, as we cannot guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
Inspection and Approval
Once we receive your returned item, we will inspect it to ensure it meets the eligibility criteria. We will notify you via email regarding the approval or rejection of your return.
Exchanges
We only replace items if they are defective due to poor workmanship or damaged on delivery. If you need to exchange your product for the same item, please contact us at wecare@mybutchersblock.co.za with details of the issue.
Please note that gift cards are non-exchangeable and non-refundable. Gift cards cannot be redeemed for cash or any other alternatives and can only be used for products available at the My Butchers Block online store. Gift cards are valid indefinitely from the date of purchase. Any remaining balance may be applied to future orders. My Butchers Block is not responsible for lost or stolen gift cards.
Refunds
Once your return is approved, we will process your refund within 7 business days. The refund will be applied to your original method of payment. Please note that depending on your payment provider, it may take some time for the refund to reflect in your account.

Damaged or Defective Items
If your item arrives damaged or defective, please notify us within 7 days of receiving the item. Provide a description of the damage along with photographic evidence. We will arrange a replacement or a full refund, including shipping costs, where applicable.
My Butchers Block Warranty Policy
At My Butchers Block, we take pride in the quality of our products and are committed to ensuring customer satisfaction. Our products are carefully crafted using high-quality materials and workmanship. However, we understand that issues may occasionally arise, which is why we offer the following warranty.
1. Warranty Coverage
Our warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship under normal household use for a period of 12 months from the date of purchase. This warranty applies to all products purchased directly from My Butchers Block or an authorised retailer.
2. What Is Covered

Cracks, splits, or breaks caused by manufacturing defects

Issues related to product hardware (where applicable)

Defects that affect the product’s functionality under normal use
3. What Is Not Covered
Our warranty does not cover the following:

Normal wear and tear, including scratches, dents, or cosmetic marks

Damage caused by improper use, care, or storage, including water damage, excessive heat, or prolonged exposure to direct sunlight

Modifications or alterations made by the customer

Accidental damage, misuse, or neglect

Products used for commercial purposes

Custom engraving or customised products, which are final sale items and cannot be resold
Natural Wood Variations
All My Butchers Block products are crafted from natural acacia and Knysna Blackwood. As with all natural materials, variations in grain, tone, colour, texture, and pattern are inherent and expected.
Due to the handcrafted nature of our products and the natural movement of wood, minor size variations may occur, typically within small percentage tolerances. These variations do not affect the quality, durability, or functionality of the product and are not considered defects.
Warranty claims and returns will not be accepted for natural variations in wood appearance or minor dimensional differences.
4. Warranty Claim Process
To initiate a warranty claim, please email wecare@mybutchersblock.co.za with the subject line “Warranty Claim” and include:

Your full name and contact details

Proof of purchase (receipt or order number)

A detailed description of the issue

Clear photos or videos showing the defect
Our team will review your claim and determine whether the product qualifies for repair or replacement.
If approved, we will arrange for the product to be repaired or replaced at no additional cost. Where applicable, return shipping costs for approved claims will be covered by My Butchers Block.
5. Repair or Replacement
If your product qualifies under this warranty, we will, at our discretion:

Repair the defective product, or
-
Replace it with a new or equivalent model
6. Limitation of Liability
Our liability is limited strictly to the repair or replacement of the defective product under this warranty. We are not responsible for any incidental or consequential damages arising from the use of our products.
7. Warranty for Gift Purchases
If a product was purchased as a gift, the warranty claim must be initiated by the original purchaser, as proof of purchase is required.
