Our mineral oil is a food grade oil that easily absorbs and penetrates deeply into the grain of the wood to help protect, revitalize and moisturise the wood fibre preventing dryness and cracking. FDA Approved – Safe for human consumption.

Beeswax Conditioner

Wood is a living organism and reacts to its environment. Beeswax conditioner will seal the My Butchers Block Mineral Oil into the wood and protect the board from cracking or warping and bacteria.

Wood Polish

My Butchers Block Wood Polish will help to provide your wooden products with one of the most natural looking finishes. It will have the wood looking as good as new!

 

STAGE 1: Using My Butchers Block Disinfectant Spray

Step 1 – Clean

Spray the My Butchers Block product with the Disinfectant spray and wipe down with a damp cloth.

Step 2 – Dry

My Butchers Block products must be dried thoroughly. Be sure to include that in your timing. Caring for wooden products is an art, it takes time but is so worth it!

STAGE 2: Using My Butchers Block Mineral Oil

 
Step 1 – Clean

Wipe it down with soapy water and a cloth. Remember, submerging My Butchers Block products in water can result in warping and cracking so be careful! 

Step 2 – Oil

Once your My Butchers Block product is properly dry, apply the mineral oil generously across your product and spread it with a cloth or paper towel. 

Step 3 – Oil Soak

Leave the oil on your product to soak overnight preferably. 

Step 4 – Remove excess oil

Use a dry clean cloth or paper towel, wipe off any oil so that your product is dry to the touch.

Tip: Oil your My Butchers Block products as often as possible in the beginning of its life. This is further protect your products and keep it sanitary.

STAGE 3: Using My Butchers Block Beeswax Conditioner.

Is it necessary? Short answer – yes.

Beeswax conditioner’s has the added benefit of sealing the pores of the wood. Wood is still a living organism and reacts to its environment.  Beeswax conditioner will seal the My Butchers Block Mineral oil in the wood, and protect the board from cracking, warping and bacteria. 

Step 1: Wax On

Rub the My Butchers Block Beeswax Conditioner into your product with a soft, lint free cloth or soft paper towel. Allow the wax to sit on the board for 5 min or longer. (Some have suggested to leave the wax on until the next use.)  

Step 2: Wax off  

Once the wax has soaked into the board, buff it with a soft cloth.

 

A friendly reminder that a little goes a long way! So start with less and apply more Beeswax Conditioner as needed.

STAGE 4: Using My Butchers Block Wood Polish

My Butchers Block Wood Polish will help to provide your wooden products with one of the most natural-looking finishes. It will have the wood looking good as new! The Wood Polish is 100% natural, eco friendly and proudly made in South Africa. Good for all wooden household products.

 Step 1: Apply the Wood Polish
It’s as simple as that. Grab a cloth, paper towel, or the back of a kitchen sponge to gently apply the wood polish.
 Step 2: Remove excess Wood Polish
Use a paper towel or dry cloth to remove any residual wood polish left after the polish has soaked in.
