Ways to celebrate Valentine's day at home

Reading time: 4 Minutes

Great stuff, you scored yourself a date for Valentine’s day!

Now what to do next?

Now is the time to get creative and sweep your date off their feet by showing off how resourceful you are! And we are here to help you plan the best Valentine's day at home!

1. Picnic in your home

Set up a picnic space in the comfort of your home.

Use a blanket/duvet to lay on the ground, add cozy pillows, and good food.

Do not forget the ambiance!

Add flowers/pot plants around the area. You can use speakers to play soft music while you chill.

Candles are a great touch to add ambiance especially when it starts to get dark. (Unless you live in the Western Cape - it is the windy season). Adding outdoor string lights will create a warm glow without taking away the beauty of a starry night.

2. Movie night/ Netflix and Chill

Choose your favorite movies/series and line them up to watch together. If you are already a couple you can catch up on a series, you have been watching together.

As South Africans, we are very lucky to celebrate Valentine’s day in summer! Why not take your Netflix and chill outside? Create an outdoor cinema.

*Great option if you have children and can't get a babysitter.

3. Learn to cook a meal together at home

Learning to do anything with a partner can be so much fun, and a great way to get to know each other.

Choose an interesting meal and learn to cook it together.
